MC Abohar launches cleanliness campaign
DC holds Janta Darbar to listen the public grievances
Abohar/Fazilka, 4 January
Municipal Corporation Abohar launched a special fortnightly cleanliness drive dedicated to new year on Wednesday. Campaign was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Fazilka, Dr Senu Duggal IAS, who also holds the additional charge of Commissioner Municipal Corporation Abohar.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner said that it is our duty and responsibility to keep the city clean and to provide a clean and disease-free environment to all the citizen of our society and this is possible only if we do not pollute the city and every citizen also take care of his/her city. She said that during this fortnightly campaign, priority would be given to the cleanliness of city road edges, wards, streets etc.
Deputy Commissioner said that special teams were deployed under this drive to clean the city. She said that the vehicles (tippers) of Municipal Corporation Abohar will move door-to-door for garbage collection. She urged the local resident to do the segregation of wet and dry waste and house level.
Earlier a Janta Darbar (Public Grievance Redressal Camp) was also organized at Town Hall of Municipal Corporation Abohar. Camp was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fazilka Dr Senu Duggal IAS. In this camp 86 complaints were received related to MC Abohar and other departments. Deputy Commissioner directed all officers to resolve all the complaints in a stipulated time as per the mandate of state government. On this occasion Mayor Vimal Thathai, Mr. Kuldeep Kumar Deep Kamboj, SE Sandeep Gupta were also present.
