Mann Government’s Historic Achievement; Over 11 Lakh Farmers Benefit from MSP
Chandigarh, November 16: Leaving no stone unturned in ensuring smooth paddy procurement, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and through the proactive initiatives of the Punjab government, 11,31,270 farmers have received the benefit of Minimum Support Price (MSP) until November 12.
The procurement process is in full swing. It is under the leadership of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak. Lifting and payment operations are actively continuing. With 96,920 farmers having received the benefit of Minimum Support Price so far, Patiala district is leading in the state.
It is noteworthy that by the evening of November 12, a total of 1,54,78,162.41 metric tons of paddy has arrived in mandis across the state. Of this, 1,53,89,039.51 metric tons of paddy has already been procured, which is 99 percent of the total crop. The total lifting figure stands at 1,41,09,483.18 metric tons, which amounts to 91 percent of the crop procured so far.
