Local Government Minister Meets Safai Sewak Unions

Chandigarh, Jan 16:

Local Government Minister Balkar Singh held a meeting today at Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35 Chandigarh with the representatives of Safai Sewak and Municipal Work Unions regarding their demands. The meeting was held in the presence of Director, Local Government, Deputy Director, Local Government and Deputy Controller, Local Government.

Giving information in this regard, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh said that maintaining cleanliness in the state is an important task, In which Safai Sewak/sewer men working under Urban Local bodies are playing an pivtol role.  The representative of the unions assured that all possible efforts will be made to bring Punjab State to the first Position in the future ‘Swachh sarvekshan abhiyaan‘.

        During the meeting, the comprehensive array of demands presented by the Safai unions was meticulously discussed, with the Minister attentively listening to the representatives. Offering reassurance, the Minister pledged to address and resolve all legitimate demands at the local government department level. Immediate and appropriate action will be taken to ensure the expeditious resolution of these concerns, demonstrating a commitment to the welfare and interests of the Safai unions.
