Jimpa calls on Minister ETO; requests to speed up tender process of new medical college to be built in Hoshiarpur
Chandigarh, August 1:
Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa today held a high-level meeting with PWD Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO regarding the new medical college to be built in Hoshiarpur. Meanwhile, senior officials of PWD were also present.
Jimpa advocated that the tender process for the construction of the new medical college and hospital building to be built in Hoshiarpur should be expedited. It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced to name it as Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences. Jimpa said that this college will not only change the face of Doaba region but it will also set new milestones of progress for Hoshiarpur in terms of providing opportunities in medical education. Notably, Jimpa is MLA from Hoshiarpur and he is making a lot of efforts for the development of this area.
Jimpa said that the students who want to get medical education will not have to go abroad and they will be provided high quality medical education in this college. Along with this, people will get better and world-class healthcare facilities close to their homes. The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also announced/started many development projects for the Doaba region, said Jimpa adding that in this year’s budget, Chief Minister has set aside Rs. 412 crore for the new medical college. He requested the Public Works Minister to issue tenders for the construction of this college building so that it can be ready soon.
