Jauramajra condoles the demise of Photojournalist Santokh Singh

Jauramajra  acknowledged his extensive contributions as a photojournalist

Chandigarh, December 21: Punjab’s Information and Public Relations Minister, Sardar Chetan Singh Jauramajra, expressed deep condolences over the passing of senior photojournalist Santokh Singh, affectionately known as ‘Taya Ji’ in the journalist community. Aged 78, Santokh Singh had been unwell and undergoing treatment in the hospital, unfortunately succumbing to his ailment this morning.

Reflecting on Santokh Singh’s impactful career, Minister Jauramajra praised his extensive contributions as a seasoned photojournalist, emphasizing his compassionate and charismatic personality. The Minister noted that Santokh Singh’s dedication to diligent work would continue to inspire future generations of journalists.

During this somber period, Jauramajra extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to bear the irreparable loss.

Survived by his son Inderjit Singh, a Senior Cameraman, and a daughter, the late Santokh Singh leaves behind a legacy in journalism.

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, on Thursday expressed deep grief over the sad demise of senior photographer S. Santokh Singh.

  In a press communique issued here, the Speaker stated that Santokh Singh, the senior photographer and working for the Rozana Spokesman from Chandigarh for an extended period, was a cheerful, honest, and combative individual. The Speaker emphasized that Santokh Singh consistently displayed unwavering dedication to his work. Furthermore, he expressed that Santokh Singh’s contributions to the field of photojournalism would be enduringly remembered.

          The Speaker prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

          Pertinently, the speaker Sandhwan also attended the last rites of Santokh Singh and paid tribute to him.
