Jalandhar, June 19:
Promising holistic development of Jalandhar Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday gave a major gift to the city by kicking off development works worth Rs 30 crore.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating development projects worth Rs 30 crore here today, the Chief Minister said that ‘Jalandhar will shine’ with comprehensive development and progress. He said that the state government is working concertedly for ensuring the progress of state and prosperity of people. Bhagwant Mann said that victory of Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat has filled them with far more humility to serve the people.
The Chief Minister said that though their MP had not took the oath but works worth Rs 100 crore had already began in Punjab. He said that the work on Jalandhar-Adampur- Hoshiarpur road is already going on war footing. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that the work on Jandiala Goraya road will also start soon as it has been already cleared.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed for all round development of state in general and Jalandhar in particular. He said that there is no shortage of funds for this noble cause and impetus will be given to progress of state. Bhagwant Mann also said that after completion of Shahpur Kandi project the Bist Doab will be made perennial and canal water will be supplied to 10,000 acre of land.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has taken path breaking initiatives for the welfare of the every section of society. He said that his government is making strenuous efforts to facilitate the general public by taking historic initiatives. Bhagwant Mann said that his government has provided 600 units of free power to the people in every bill cycle.
Likewise, the Chief Minister said that schools of eminence are being constructed across the state to provide quality education to the students. He said that Aam Aadmi Clinics have been set up in the state to impart quality health services to people free of cost. Bhagwant Mann said that more than 29000 government jobs have been given to eligible youth purely on the basis of merit.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time in history of state, Punjab government has provided uninterrupted power to the farmers for paddy season. He said that the state has ample of coal for supplying power to people adding that 52 days of coal is still in stock of the state government. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to carve out a rangla and progressive Punjab.
The Chief Minister dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explain where has the Rs 15 lakh promised to every individual gone. He said that Modi had duped people through this political gimmick aimed at attaining power. Bhagwant Mann said that Prime Minister is criticising AAP for using people’s money on their welfare whereas his friends had looted public money from banks and fled abroad.
The Chief Minister said that Modi is envy of interest of the common man due to which he had misused his central agencies to unduly harassing the leaders who had launched pro-people schemes. Citing the example, he said that Manish Sisodia who had revolutionised the education sector to benefit of common man was lodged behind the bars. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that Satyendra Jain another leader who pioneered reforms in Health sector was also harassed by confining in jail.
On the occasion Cabinet Minister Balkar Singh, Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha and Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku and others were also present.
