Punjab Horticulture Minister and Danish Ambassador explore wide-ranging agricultural partnerships

New Delhi/Chandigarh, July 14:

 Punjab Horticulture Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra, directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, held a productive meeting with Freddy Svane, Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.

They discussed strengthening mutual relations and exploring potential business collaborations between Punjab and Denmark. Jouramajra and Svane exchanged insights on various sectors of mutual interest.

Both dignitaries stressed upon fostering bilateral ties

       Both dignitaries emphasized fostering bilateral ties and leveraging their regions’ strengths. They discussed cooperation in sustainable agriculture, innovative horticulture, food processing, biogas development, groundwater management, efficient irrigation, water conservation, and the dairy sector.

The Horticulture Minister highlighted Punjab’s rich agricultural heritage and efforts to modernize horticulture. He stated that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is taking steps to ensure the state’s prosperity.

“The Punjab government is committed to exploring international partnerships for agricultural growth and economic development,” the Cabinet Minister mentioned.

He said the focus on biogas development, groundwater management, and efficient irrigation aligns with both regions’ commitments to sustainability and environmental conservation.

          Danish Ambassador Mr. Svane shared Denmark’s expertise in sustainable farming techniques, renewable energy solutions and water management. He expressed keen interest in potential partnerships across the discussed sectors.

Chetan Singh Jouramajra assured that in the coming days, he would arrange a meeting of Chief Minister  Bhagwant Singh Mann and Mr. Freddy Svane to further strengthen the ties between Punjab and Denmark.

He added that this meeting marks a significant step forward in enhancing Indo-Danish relations at the state level. Consequently, it could potentially pave the way for future collaborations, thereby benefiting both Punjab’s agricultural and allied sectors as well as Danish businesses.
