Health Minister hands over appointment letters to 96 Multipurpose Health Workers
Chandigarh, 19 December:
Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab Balbir Singh Sidhu today handed over appointment letters to 96 Multipurpose Health Workers (MPHWs). Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Hussan Lal was specially present on the occasion.
Disclosing this here today the Health Minister said that out of the total 200 sanctioned posts of Multipurpose Health Workers, appointment letters were today given to 96 Multipurpose Health Workers . While the remaining posts will be filled in phased manner as soon as possible. All these appointments are being made by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in a transparent manner on the basis of merit.
Balbir Singh Sidhu congratulated the newly appointed Multipurpose Health Workers and encouraged them to discharge their responsibilities honestly and diligently in health institutions. He said that during the pandemic of Corona virus, the staff of the health department has performed their duties responsibly and the employees who have shown excellent performance have also been honored.
The Health Minister said that Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh had promised to provide jobs under Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna and every effort is being made to achieve this goal. It may also be mentioned here that the Health Department Punjab has filled 7000 posts of paramedical and other staff including medical officers from the year 2017 to 2019 while recruitment of 3954 posts is under process.
Director Health Services (Family Welfare) Punjab Prabhdeep Kaur Johal welcomed the newly appointed staff who got jobs in the health department. He said that corona pandemic has been brought under control to a large extent and the disease has not been eradicated yet. Hundreds of cases are coming to light every day. Therefore, to prevent corona, wear a mask and wash your hands from time to time and strictly follow the rules of social distance.
On this occasion, Political Secretary to Health Minister Harkesh Chand Sharma, the Health Minister’s OSD. Dr. Balwinder Singh, PA to Director Family Welfare Parvinder Singh, Superintendent Suraj Kumar, Mass Media Officer Gurmeet Singh Rana and other officials were also present.
