Health Minister flags-off 22 Awareness vans for Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana
Launches special campaign for E-card generation of eligible left out beneficiaries under the scheme
6.65 lakh beneficiaries availed treatment of worth Rs. 631 Cr.
10,000 Heart Surgeries, more than 3800 joint replacements & more than 10,000 Cancer treatments made under SSBY

Health and Family Welfare Minister, Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu on Friday flagged off 22 IEC awareness vans regarding Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sidhu said that under the Tandrust Punjab initiative of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, Government of Punjab is providing health insurance cover of up to Rs. 5 lakhs annually to about 40 lakh families in the State, which includes BPL families, Smart Rashan Card holders, Farmers and Traders etc. These vans will visit the remote areas and villages in all the districts to create awareness about the scheme and E-cards of the eligible beneficiaries will be generated there as well. The micro-planning for the same and daily reporting of the vans shall be monitored.
Sidhu said that nearly 60% of families in the State have got E-cards generated under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. The work of e-card generation has been expedited and there are about 13000 Common Service Centres, 516 Sewa Kendras and 154 Market Committees where these E-cards are being generated. He urged all the eligible beneficiaries to reach their nearest E-card generation center to get their E-cards made under the scheme.
Health Minister said that till date more than 6.65 lakh people have availed the treatment under the scheme at a cost of more than Rs. 631 Cr. which includes above 10,000 Heart Surgeries, more than 3800 joint replacements and more than 10,000 Cancer treatments etc.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary Health Mr. Hussan Lal, Special Secretary Health cum CEO, State Health Agency Mr. Amit Kumar, Director Health Services Dr. G.B. Singh, Political Advisor to Health Minister Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma, Director National Health Mission Dr. Areet Kaur, OSD Dr. Balwinder Singh and other senior officers of the department were present as well.
