Harjot Singh Bains announces to increases Holidays
School timings for 6th to 12th classes have also been changed
Chandigarh, January 14 In view of harsh weather conditions and to ensure safety of the students, the Punjab Government has announced holidays for all primary classes (government/aided/recognized and private schools) till January 20, 2024.
In a recent announcement, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains shed light on the decision to declare holidays, emphasizing that it aligns with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s directive to prioritize the safety of children. This strategic move, effective from January 15, 2024, encompasses all middle, high, and senior secondary schools, irrespective of their categorization as government, aided, recognized, or private institutions.
Minister Bains further elaborated that these educational institutions will adhere to regular operational hours, conducting classes from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Moreover, for double-shift schools, the designated time frame has been set from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a strict directive that none of these schools will remain open beyond 4:00 pm.
This decision comes in response to the need for heightened safety measures amid prevailing circumstances, and it reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of students. Parents, educators, and students are encouraged to stay updated on these schedule adjustments, as they play a crucial role in facilitating a secure and efficient learning environment across the state’s educational landscape.
