Chandigarh, October 29

The governor of Punjab Banwarilal Purohit, on Sunday took a U-turn when in a letter to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he will examine all the bills passed in Punjab’s legislative assembly session. Earlier, the governor termed the session called by the Punjab government illegal.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reacting to the latest letter of the governor said that chief minister Bhagwant Mann already said in the assembly that the challenges brought by the governor about the session called by the Punjab government won’t hold even for a minute in the Supreme Court. Mann during his address on October 20th in assembly said that the government will challenge governor’s letter in the Supreme Court on October 30th and on October 29th governor took this U-turn and said that he’ll examine all bills.

AAP added that this letter is proof that the governor just wanted to hinder the proceedings of a session and works of the AAP government in Punjab. The Punjab government only filed a petition in this matter in the court and Purohit already took a U-turn.

The AAP Punjab said that it is very unfortunate for the governor as well as the opposition parties for being an obstacle in a session and not letting the government do work for the welfare of the people of Punjab. AAP demanded that the opposition leaders also should apologise to the people of Punjab because in session they were calling it illegal too and not letting the assembly business proceed.
