FM Inaugurates Photography Exhibition on World Photography Day

Chandigarh, August 19 : To commemorate World Photography Day, a photography exhibition was inaugurated by Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema today at Kala Bhavan, Sector 16, Chandigarh. The exhibition, organized by Chandigarh Press Club in collaboration with Punjab Kala Bhawan, will run from August 19 to August 21.

150 Photos by 65 Photographers Showcased

The exhibition features 150 photographs by 65 talented photographers, showcasing their creative vision and skill. On the occasion, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema walked through the exhibition, engaging with the photographers and appreciating their work. He congratulated all the photographers on World Photography Day and recognized their contributions to the art form.

The Finance Minister honored photographers Sanjeev Sharma, TS Bedi, Rajneesh Katyal, Ajay Verma, and Jaipal with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions. Additionally, he handed over participation certificates to every participant. Meanwhile, he commended their involvement and contributions to the showcase.

Photographers capture emotions

Addressing the gathering, Finance Minister Cheema said, “Photographers capture emotions and moments, turning them into lasting memories.”  They hold a special place in our society, with the power to connect us to our past, future, and nature.”

Also present on the occasion were Chandigarh Press Club President Nalin Acharya, former President Sukhbir Singh Bajwa, and Balwinder Jammu. Additionally, Photo Journalist Committee Chairman Upendra Sengupta, along with committee members Vinay Malik, Ajay Jalandhari, Amarpreet Singh, Swadesh Talwar, Karam Singh, and RP Sharma, joined the distinguished gathering of renowned journalists.
