Flying squads to check influx of other states’ paddy in Punjab
- 1500 personnel in 150 teams to work round the clock
- Prepare duty roster of food & civil supply officers to be deployed in flying squads- Bharat Bhushan Ashu
Chandigarh, October 8:
Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Punjab will deploy officers round the clock for the month of October, November and December to thwart attempts to bring other states’ paddy in Punjab for bogus billing and recycling, said Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punjab .
Directing all the District Food and Civil Supplies Controllers to prepare a duty roster of the food and civil supply officers / staff to be deployed in the flying squads, the minister informed that 1500 personnel in 150 teams would work 24×7 and man all the inter state check posts .
Pertinently, the officers of the Mandi Board and the Police personnel will also be posted at these check posts for ensuring stringent check.
Expressing satisfaction over the performance of the flying squads so far, Mr. Ashu hoped that at least by December 31, 2021, these flying squads would continue to perform their duties with full dedication and sincerity.
