FD okays release of ₹11.21 crore to Health Department under National Urban, Rural Health Missions- Harpal Singh Cheema

Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday said that the Finance Department has given approval for the release of Rs. 11.21 crore to the Health and Family Welfare Department under National Rural Health Mission and National Urban Health Mission.
Revealing this here today, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Rs. 668.50 lakh has been okayed for release under National Rural Health Mission and Rs 452.50 for National Urban Health Mission. He said that Chief Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government is committed to develop the urban and rural health infrastructure at a constant pace.
Cheema said that the Mann Government’s commitment to improve the state health infrastructure can be judged from the fact that it has released a fund of Rs. 1262.22 crore out of total budget of Rs. 4731.34 crore within initial 5 months of financial year 2022-23. “Our mission is to make optimal utilization of the resources we have in a time bound manner to ensure a sea change in the health infrastructure of the state. We have also released 40.42 percent of total budget kept for the Medical Education and Research department”, added Cheema.
“100 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been setup across the state where 41 packages with around 100 clinical tests are being offered free of cost”, said Cheema while adding that Mann Government would soon setup such clinics in every nook and corner of the state.
