The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) arrested Law Officer Gautam Majithia of Improvement Trust Amritsar on  Thursday for demanding and accepting an Rs 8 lakh bribe. Today, a V B spokesperson disclosed the arrest of the mentioned law officer in Amritsar.

A Green Field, Majitha Road, Amritsar resident and law officer, mentioned in a complaint by Jatinder Singh, was arrested by the VB for allegedly accepting an Rs 8 lakh bribe, as per the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line.

The law officer, alleged by the complainant, expedited a 20 percent compensation release on the land acquisition, totaling Rs 20 lakh in exchange for a bribe. The VB range in Amritsar conducted an investigation, found the law officer guilty, and arrested him for accepting an Rs 8 lakh bribe, as stated by the spokesperson.

The VB registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Amritsar police station, and ongoing investigations are underway. in this regard a case under section Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused advocate at VB police station Amritsar range. Further investigation in this case was under progress.
