ECI directs to transfer Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar
Also directs to transfer Ropar Range and Border Range Police Officers
Chandigarh, March 19:
Based on a complaint, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the transfer of Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Sarangal. The directive specifies relocating him from his current posting to a location outside his home district, ensuring he is not assigned to the same parliamentary constituency. Additionally, the ECI has requested the appointment of a panel of three officers for the new Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar.
Similarly, the transfer of ADGP of Ropar Range, Jaskaran Singh, and DIG of Border Range, Narinder Bhargav, has been directed. These officers are also required to be relocated outside the district and not stationed within the same parliamentary constituency. Both officers are scheduled to retire in April and June, respectively. The Commission has requested panels of three names for both postings, from which new appointments will be made.
