DRIVER CAUGHT PILFERING 22 LITERS OF DIESEL FROM GOVT BUS, TWO CONDUCTORS FOR CHEATING PASSENGERS

TRANSPORT MINISTER INSTRUCTS DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST ERRING EMPLOYEES

Chandigarh, August 29:

Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Tuesday, informed that an another driver has been caught pilfering diesel from a government bus.

Divulging further, the Cabinet Minister said that during a checking at Ravi Dhaba near Satnaur (district Hoshiarpur) last night, the Minister’s Flying Squad caught Rajwant Singh, the driver of bus no. PB-06AS 8770 of Pathankot Depot, red-handed while he was pilfering diesel from government bus. Total 22 liters of diesel has been recovered from his possession.

  1. Laljit Singh Bhullar informed that the Flying Squad, during a checking in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, has caught conductor Nitish Kumar of bus no. PB-32P 3661 of SBS Nagar Depot for not issuing tickets despite collecting fares from passengers. He charged Rs.325 from passengers but did not provide them with tickets.

Similarly, conductor Gurjeet Singh of bus no. PB-08CX 8714 of Jalandhar-1 depot was also caught for embezzling passengers ticket money of Rs.60 by not issuing them tickets for the same amount during a checking in Raipur Khalyan. Besides this, Minister’s Flying Squad reported bus no. PB-46H 9304 of Patti Depot plying on an unscheduled route during checking at Phagwara.

The Transport Minister directed the department officials for immediate disciplinary action against the erring employees.
