Urging the youth of the state to learn lessons from recent deportation of illegal migrants from the USA, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday appealed to them to shun the idea of going abroad by wrong means
Ghungrali (Ludhiana), February 16: Deportation From USA: The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann addressed the youth of the state. He urged them to learn lessons. They should reflect on recent deportations of illegal migrants from the USA. On Sunday, he appealed to them to shun the idea of going abroad by wrong means. Instead, they should work hard in their native state to make it a frontrunner in the country.
CM Urges Youth to Stay, Highlights Jobs and Growth
The Chief Minister addressed the gathering here during a sports tournament. He said that we are blessed to have taken birth on this sacred land. It is the most fertile land in the world. However, he bemoaned that successive governments in the state had failed. As a result, the youth were forced to migrate to other countries in search of green pastures. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the mass deportation from the US is an eye opener for all of us. We should not move abroad illegally. Instead, we should work hard in the socio-economic growth of the state.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government has already provided over 50,000 government jobs. These jobs have been given to the youth in Punjab on the basis of merit. He said that this is for the first time in the history of the state. The government has given a whopping number of jobs to the youth in three years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this trend will continue in the coming days. A large number of jobs are in the pipeline for the youth of the state.
Deportation From USA : Punjab Sees Reverse Migration as Govt Jobs Attract Youth
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing reverse migration. Youth are leaving foreign lands to join government jobs in the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that transparent recruitment has increased the faith of youth in working for the state government. Because of this, they have shunned the idea of moving abroad. Instead, they are preparing for government jobs here. He stated that it is on record. Contrary to the earlier trend of moving abroad, there is a huge surge in youth admissions at the educational institutions in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to increase the manpower in the Police department. This aims to enhance its efficiency and provide jobs to youth. They have already decided to recruit 1800 Constables and 300 Sub Inspectors every year in Punjab Police. This will overcome the scarcity of cops. He said that around 2.50 lakh candidates are expected to apply for these 2100 posts every year. Aspirants will pursue academics and improve their physique to clear the tests. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has decided to recruit 10,000 new cops in Punjab Police. The notification for this recruitment has already been issued.
Mann Slams Opposition for Envy and Misleading Propaganda
The Chief Minister reiterated that the traditional parties are envious of him because he hails from a common family. He said these leaders believe they have a divine right to rule the state. Because of this belief, they cannot accept that a common man is running the state efficiently. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders have befooled the people for a long time. Now, people are not getting swayed by their misleading propaganda.
The Chief Minister said that the people of the state have ousted the political parties. These parties used to play musical chairs of power to loot them every five years. He said that people have given his government a chance to serve them. They will work hard to fulfill their expectations.Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the opposition leaders slam him because they envy his government’s pro-people decision.
Sports Promotion: A Powerful Tool Against Drugs
The Chief Minister said that encouraging sports culture can be the most effective tool in the state government’s crusade against drugs. He said that promoting sports utilizes the unbounded energy of the youth to help them excel in sports. Bhagwant Singh Mann further stated that youth involved in sports have no time for drugs because they devote all their energy to excelling in their respective fields.
The Chief Minister further said that the state government organizes the Khedan Watan Punjab Dian every year, taking the right step toward providing a platform for players to showcase their talent.Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that these games help the state government to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the players which are beneficial for grooming them for the national and international events in future. He further said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned to popularize sports in the state as it can play a key role in progress of the state and prosperity of its people.
CM Mann Announces ₹1 Crore Grants for Village Development
Congratulating the organizing committee of the tournament for the success of the tournament, the Chief Minister said that such functions had ceased to take place during the previous regimes. Bhagwant Singh Mann but the atmosphere has changed after the AAP government has assumed charge in the state and people are enjoying such events. He said that this is a glimpse of Rangla Punjab and the state government is now leaving no stone unturned for facilitating the people by organising such events of happiness.
On the occasion the Chief Minister announced grants worth more than Rs 1 crore. These grants aim to push the development of the village. Projects include constructing an Aam Aadmi Clinic. The projects also include installing Solar Lights. Additionally, they involve building a community hall and a Water Treatment Plant, among others.
