Congress, BJP leaders and social activists join AAP in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal

 

-Former Congress candidate from Sujanpur Amit Singh Manta, prominent social activist Amandeep Singh Sandhu and Garg family from Ropar join Aam Aadmi Party

Chandigarh, January 18

In the presence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, senior Congress leader Amit Singh Manta from Sujanpur Assembly constituency, eminent social activist Amandeep Singh Sandhu with his associates, and from Jan Sangh Vijay Garg and Vikas Garg, who are members of eminent social activists Garg family, joined the Aam Aadmi Party. These leaders were formally welcomed by Arvind Kejriwal to AAP’s family. Jarnail Singh, in-charge of Punjab affairs, Raghav Chadha, co-in-charge and Harpal Singh Cheema, Leader of Opposition were also present on the occasion.

Giving information about the leaders who joined AAP from Sujanpur Pathankot, senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema said that Amit Singh Manta had contested from Sujanpur constituency on Congress party ticket in the year 2017 and He received more than 31,000 votes. Manta is a former General Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and is the President of Youth Rajput Sabha Punjab. Similarly, Amandeep Singh Sandhu, a well known social worker from Sujanpur also joined the family of AAP with his associates; he had studied law from England. Amandeep Singh Sandhu’s father has been the secretary of Patna Sahib Gurdwara Sahib for 10 years and general secretary of the World Sikh Foundation, while his mother has been a member of the national executive of Kis ofan Morcha Bharti Janata Party and president of BJP Mahila Morcha Amritsar. Amandeep Sandhu has been making significant contributions in the field of education and health in Sujanpur and has a great influence there.

Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Garg family, a social activist family from Ropar city, had also joined the Aam Aadmi Party under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. Vijay Garg and his son Vikas Garg from the family of late Lala Gujar Mall Aggarwal Bharatgarh have joined the Aam Aadmi Party and announced to serve in the political arena. Cheema said that Garg family was following the path of Sanatan Dharam and was associated with BJP and Jan Sangh and has been big name in the field of social service.
