CM Unveils Key Projects, Brings Bonanza to Faridkot Residents

ANNOUNCES Key PROJECTS WORTH MORE THAN RS 144 CRORE TO GIVE FURTHER IMPETUS TO DEVELOPMENT OF FARIDKOT
Faridkot, December 8- Giving a big bonanza to the residents of Faridkot district, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today dedicated/ laid foundation stone of several key projects worth around 55.80 crore in the district thereby giving a major fillip to its holistic development.
To address the sewerage issue in the district, the Chief Minister actively dedicated a new Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) with a capacity of 14 MLD, along with a new Master Pumping Station (MPS), to the people. The construction of the STP and MPS, undertaken at a cost of Rs 25.71 crore, stands as a significant initiative poised to benefit the district’s residents. Additionally, Bhagwant Singh Mann actively inaugurated a project aimed at augmenting the water supply scheme in Faridkot city.
Highlighting the importance of the project, the Chief Minister expressed that it will contribute to a consistent and reliable supply of potable drinking water, bringing immense benefits to the local populace. He emphasized the state government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people and the comprehensive development of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann further laid the foundation stone for Block III (Treasury Block) in the District Administrative Complex (DAC) of the district, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructural advancement.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has already earmarked Rs 9.71 crore for this project and as per it the building will house offices of 21 departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will immensely facilitate the people of Jaiton and Kotakpura assembly segments by facilitating them. He also laid the foundation stone of new construction/ widening and strengthening of the 15. 925 kilometre road from Faridkot-Ferozepur road to Pakhi Kalan-Pehluwala Khawaja Khadak road.
The Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, announced the initiation of a project costing Rs 12.01 crore aimed at easing commuter accessibility to Pakhi Kalan, Pehluwala Khawaja Khadak, Malewal, and neighboring villages, addressing the prevalent traffic issues in the area.
The work has already commenced and is slated for completion before August 2024, benefiting the local villagers. Additionally, the Chief Minister unveiled projects worth Rs 144.35 crore for Faridkot, encompassing special repairs to link roads, the construction of a Sports School, a PHC in Jand Sahib, and the establishment of a bypass from Faridkot to Deep Singh wala to Amritsar Bathinda National highway, all set to enhance the region’s infrastructure.
Furthermore, allocations include Rs 4.42 crore for a multipurpose auditorium in Government Barjindra College, Rs 1.58 crore for infrastructure upgrades in Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College, Rs 20.54 crore for a steel bridge over Kotakpura to Faridkot Rajasthan Feeder canal and Faridkot to Kotakpura Sirhind Feeder Canal, Rs 15.64 crore for a steel bridge at village Machaki Mal Singh, and Rs 22.77 crore for a steel bridge over Faridkot to Mudki Rajasthan Feeder and Talwandi to Faridkot Sirhind Canal. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann envisions these projects as catalysts for the holistic development of Faridkot district.
