Mukerian, March 19: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Punjab Police Constable Amritpal Singh who sacrificed his life in line of duty, while combating the anti-social elements.
The Chief Minister said that Constable Amritpal Singh had attained martyrdom while performing his duty at Mukerian. He said that the state government is solidly with the aggrieved family in this hour of crisis. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this initiative is in recognition of the immense contribution of this son of soil towards maintaining law and order in the state.
State government has a duty to assist the families
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister emphasized that the state government has a duty to assist the families of police officers who sacrifice their lives for the nation.He said that all sort of assistance to family of martyr is in consonance with the commitment of the state government to ensure the well being of the soldiers (from Armed forces, paramilitary and Police) and their families. Bhagwant Singh Mann hoped that this humble initiative by the state will go a long way in helping the aggrieved family on one hand and securing their future on the other.
