Dengue te Vaar : GIVES CLARION CALL TO PEOPLE TO JOIN WAR AGAINST DENGUE BY TAKING NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS

Chandigarh, August 9(Prashant Sharma): In a step aimed at checking the spread of Water borne Dengue in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday launched a massive awareness campaign for ‘Har Shukarvaar Dengue te Vaar’.

Launching the campaign, the Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s commitment to checking the spread of dengue and other waterborne diseases. He noted that the government had already begun a sustained campaign of breeding checks from May. Initially, 300 breeding checkers were hired in May and June, and this number increased to 1,200 by July. . Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the health department has initiated this mass awareness drive to sensitise the people about this disease.

CM Announces 47 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals

The Chief Minister announced that the state has identified 47 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals in all districts and that NS-1 and IgM kits are available for dengue testing. He added that the state government is providing free testing for Dengue and Chikungunya to facilitate the people.

Bhagwant Singh Mann also stated that key state departments, including Local Government, Rural Development, and Education, are collaborating closely to break the backbone of dengue. Additionally, he emphasized that their combined efforts are crucial in addressing the issue comprehensively and effectively.

Dengue te Vaar : CM Calls for Mosquito-Free Punjab

The Chief Minister stated that the campaign should focus on making the state mosquito-free, thereby preventing dengue from spreading its wings in Punjab. Additionally, he issued a clarion call for people to join hands in the fight against dengue. Furthermore, he assured that the state government will take decisive action on a war footing to ensure the success of the dengue control campaign.

Bhagwant Singh Mann appealed to the people

He asked the Health department to make elaborate arrangements for stepping up fogging in rural as well urban areas and to enhance manpower for larvae checking. Bhagwant Singh Mann appealed to the people to keep their houses and surroundings clean to avoid spread of dengue virus adding that awareness is a key to control the disease and all the stakeholders should continue their efforts against dengue.
