CM Distributes 518 Job Letters to Youth

Chandigarh, February 1- The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann continued the mission to empower the youth of the state by handing over 518 more job letters for government jobs in departments such as Education, Higher Education, Finance, GAD, Cooperation, Power, and others.

Addressing the gathering during a function to hand over the appointment letters to the youth, the Chief Minister stated that the state government fills all vacant posts promptly. He mentioned that a foolproof mechanism has been adopted for the entire recruitment process, ensuring that not even a single appointment out of the more than 40,000 issued has been challenged in any court.

Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed pride in the Punjab government for offering these youth government jobs based entirely on merit.

The Chief Minister emphasised that during his tenure as MP, he vehemently opposed illegal travel agents. Since assuming office, his government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against illegal travel agents involved in human trafficking. He noted that the state government has taken exemplary action against such agents and initiated a major awareness drive to educate people about their activities.

Bhagwant Singh Mann also mentioned necessary amendments made in the Immigration Act to ensure severe action against illegal travel agents.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister urged the state’s youth to exercise restraint and resist the misleading propaganda of divisive forces. He emphasised that these forces aim to derail Punjab’s development and progress by spreading venom. However, Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed confidence that the wise youth of the state will not fall prey to such agendas and will respond fittingly.

He reiterated that the primary objective of providing jobs is to ensure that the youth become active contributors to the state’s socio-economic growth and avoid falling into the traps of illegal travel agents. He highlighted that the venue has witnessed numerous events where youth have secured jobs in various government departments, reflecting the government’s commitment to their well-being and creating new avenues of employment.

The Chief Minister mentioned that due to the concerted efforts of the Punjab government, reverse migration has begun in the state. He observed that instead of seeking opportunities abroad, the youth are now striving to secure jobs within the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann noted that even youth who had previously migrated to other countries are now returning and finding employment through hard work.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that all the youth have been selected for these posts purely on the basis of merit. He said that this is not a first function as the state government has handed over job letters to youth in the state as already several such functions had taken place. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is making strenuous efforts for restoring the pristine glory of Punjab by making youth a partner in this noble cause.

The Chief Minister asserted that Punjab, blessed with the footprints of great Gurus in every second village and courageous sons who sacrificed their lives for the nation, stands as a land of resilience and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the unmatched hard work and resilience of Punjabi’s, which has led them to excel globally in various fields.

Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasised that leveraging the spirit of Punjabi’s is crucial for propelling the state forward, a commitment the state government fully embraces. He expressed pride in the increasing number of girls outperforming boys in various fields, underscoring the importance of empowering girls to achieve success across all domains.

Directing criticism at his predecessors, the Chief Minister condemned their accumulation of vast wealth through misuse of official positions, building inaccessible palaces that symbolised their detachment from the people and eventual rejection by the masses.

He outlined the state government’s concerted efforts towards youth welfare, aiming to transform them into job creators rather than job seekers to foster a progressive and prosperous Punjab.

The Chief Minister mocked a former Finance Minister’s rhetoric of an ’empty state exchequer’ for nine years, highlighting the current government’s daily provision of jobs to Punjab’s youth, thus engaging them actively in socio-economic development.

He noted a significant transformation in the state with the establishment of new hospitals, schools, and medical colleges aimed at addressing grassroots-level issues, contrasting the initiatives with the failures of traditional political parties.

Regarding the Punjab Bachao yatra of the Akali Dal, the Chief Minister challenged the Akali leaders to justify their mission after plundering the state for 15 years, accusing them of emotionally bruising Punjabis and supporting various mafias.

The Chief Minister announced the government’s plan to open eight hi-tech training centers for competitive exam preparation, aiming to groom youth for UPSC exams and prestigious positions in the state and country. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that youth occupy prominent roles and serve the nation.
