Chief Secretary holds meeting with the delegation of Punjab Roadways  PUNBUS and PRTC Contract Workers Union

Chandigarh, December 19:

 The Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has started regularizing the employees as promised. Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua, today held a meeting with the Punjab Roadways PUNBUS and PRTC Contract Workers Union. During the meeting with the delegation, he assured that the present state government from the first year of their tenure has started regularizing the employees and the employees will be regularised in all departments in a phased manner.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to all the demands of the Punjab Roadways PUNBUS and PRTC Contract Workers Union,  the Chief Secretary issued instructions to the Principal Secretary of the Punjab Transport Department to consider these demands sympathetically. Accepting an important demand of the union, the Chief Secretary issued orders to the Secretary Transport to review the cases of employees who were fired for any reason and do justice to all.

Apart from this, the chief secretary also issued instructions to the officials of the transport department to look into the case regarding the 5 percent annual increase in salary of contract workers of Punjab Roadways PUNBUS and PRTC. Apart from this, a decision was taken during the meeting to review the conditions for blacklisting the conductors.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary gave strict directions to the officials of the Transport Department that no private bus should be allowed to run illegally, and in this regard orders should be issued to the General Managers of various depots to keep a strict vigil.
