Chandigarh Grenade Blast Main Perpetrator Arrested in Joint Operation

Amritsar, 13th September 2024* – In a major breakthrough, the Punjab Police, in collaboration with a Central Agency, has apprehended the prime suspect behind the recent grenade blast in Chandigarh. The arrest of Rohan Masih, a resident of Passia village, Police Station Ramdass, Amritsar Rural, marks a significant development in the case.

Ammunition recovered from Masih’s possession

Police recovered a 9mm Glock pistol along with ammunition from Masih’s possession during the arrest, further implicating him in the violent act. The investigation team, working in close coordination with Chandigarh Police, has also identified other suspects involved in the crime.

Grenade Blast : Rohan Masih admitted to playing a key role

The grenade blast, which took place on  11th September 2024  in Chandigarh, had raised serious concerns over public safety and security. In his preliminary disclosure, Rohan Masih admitted to playing a key role in executing the blast. He is currently in the custody of the   State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, where further interrogation is underway to unravel the full scope of the conspiracy and track down other accomplices.

Authorities are confident that this arrest will lead to more revelations as the investigation progresses. Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and harmony in the region, ensuring that those responsible for disrupting public safety will be brought to justice.
