Chandigarh, December 5:

The office of Chief Electoral officer, Punjab flagged off five mobile vans to augment the ongoing special campaign for enrolment and deletion of votes. These five vans shall ply in the districts namely – SAS Nagar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and Barnala. These five districts were identified for the intervention of gaps to create overall healthy electoral roll.

Mobile Vans shall supplement the ongoing drive of enrolment/correction/deletion of voters list and forms shall be accepted on the spots, moving around at the prominent places. Five identified assembly constituencies include – Mohali (SAS Nagar), Ludhiana, South, Urmur (Hoshiarpur District), Chamkaur Sahib (Rupnagar District) and Barnala. While Urmur (Hoshiarpur District) and Ludhiana South are chosen for gender ratio, rest of three constituencies have low Electoral Population (EP) ratio i.e. number of electors is less compared to the total population. Ludhiana, South has less number of female electors, Urmur (Hoshiarpur) on the other hand has less number of male electors as compared to females.
