Capt Sandeep Sandhu files nomination papers from Dakha
LUDHIANA, January 27: The Congress candidate from Dakha assembly segment Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu filed his nomination papers for the February 20 Vidhan Sabha elections here today.
He was accompanied by his wife, Puneeta Sandhu, who also filed the nomination papers as his covering candidate.
Earlier, before filing his nomination papers, Sandhu paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib. He also paid homage to the martyrs before proceeding to the SDM office to submit his papers.
Later in an informal interaction with reporters, Sandhu said he was thankful to the party for providing him another chance to serve the people of Dakha. He said, although he got just about two years, people of Dakha know and realize how sincerely he worked for them.
Expressing faith and confidence in the people of Dakha, he said, he did not want to compare himself with anyone else. “My work speaks and it will continue to speak”, he said, while adding, in another five years people will see it themselves how the area has changed.
Sandhu said he will soon come out with a Dakha specific development plan and present it to the people. “I don’t make any false promises and claims and nobody knows it better than the people of Dakha”, he added.
