Finance Minister holds meeting with NHM Union Punjab
Discusses issues of union in detail, assures solution of legitimate demands
Chandigarh, October 18
Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday assured the NHM Union Punjab that the three-member cabinet committee constituted to regularize the services of the employees working on contract in the various departments of Punjab government department would discuss the financial and legal aspects regarding the regularisation of employees working under National Health Mission.
During a meeting with the representatives of NHM Union Punjab here at his office, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the National Health Mission is Centre Government sponsored scheme in which Punjab is contributing its 40 percent share. He said that the state government was already giving serious consideration to the financial and legal issues regarding this matter, even before the union requested for it.
Cheema said that the Cabinet Committee has been making sincere efforts to regularize the services of contractual employees while ensuring that every case to be resolved in such a way that it should not face any legal hurdle. He said that it was happening for the first time in the history of Punjab that a government has started action to fulfill the promises made to the people of the state from the very first day of assuming the office.
During this meeting, the Finance Minister discussed the issues of NHM emplyees in detail and assured the union that all their legitimate demands would be considered sympathetically.
Apart from union leaders, Managing Director NHM Abhinav Trikha and Special Secretary Finance Mohit Tiwari were also present in this meeting.
