INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT HEADQUARTERS BORDER SECURITY FORCE (WESTERN COMMAND) CHANDIGARH
Chandigarh, on 15th August 2025, a grand celebration of 79th Independence Day took place. The Officers and Troops of Border Security Force saluted the National Flag at Headquarters, Special Director General, Border Security Force (BSF )(Western Command) Chandigarh. This event was held under the leadership of HS Dhillon, IG, Headquarters Special DG (Western Command). Firstly, the soldiers who sacrificed their life for the security of nation were remembered. On this auspicious occasion, IG BSF (Western Command) recalled the unforgettable contribution of freedom fighters for the freedom of India and appealed the troops to actively participate in the development of the country.
Thereafter, fruits and sweets were distributed to the soldiers undergoing treatment at Command Hospital located at Lakhnaur Campus. They were wished good health. A Barakhana was also organized, where the IG BSF (WC) conveyed well wishes to all the border guards and their families.
As per the direction of Force Headquarters BSF, various activities/programmes were organized to commemorate Independence Day. These include Tiranga Rakhi to the soldiers, Letter Writing for the Soldiers, and Tiranga Cycle and Bike Rally. Tiranga Foot March, Selfie with National Flag etc. took place on a large scale. These events were part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ at BSF HQ (Western Command) Chandigarh. They occurred across all the Frontiers under command i.e. Kashmir, Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Besides BSF Headquarters Western Command Chandigarh, this festival was celebrated with full enthusiasm. The celebrations extended to all the under command headquarters and border outposts.
