Chandigarh, Dec 24. Vijay Sampla, the former Union Minister, stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party has conserved the legacy of Baba Ambedkar’s . Baba Ambedkar is known as the Father of the Indian Constitution. They have erected a series of his memorials across Delhi, London, Nagpur, and Mumbai. Addressing media persons here today, Sampla was flanked by state media head Vineet Joshi. He mentioned that a memorial was constructed at Babasaheb’s birthplace in Madhya Pradesh. This was during BJP Chief Minister Sundarlal Patwa’s tenure. The late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee inaugurated the memorial.

Modi Government Honors Baba Ambedkar’s Legacy with Memorials

Former Prime Minister Chandrasekhar had approved land for the Ambedkar Center in Delhi. However, the Congress party prevented its construction. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s government completed the Ambedkar Center. The Modi government created a memorial in London where Babasaheb lived. They established a memorial at his residence in Delhi. They also developed memorials at Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur and Chaitya Bhoomi inMumbai, he added.

Congress party had taken no steps to honor Baba Ambedkar  memory

Sampla was the former chairman of the National SC Commission. He stated that the Congress party had taken no steps to honor Baba Saheb’s memory. He claimed they only created obstacles. Meanwhile, across the country, officials have named numerous memorials after Nehru.Hospitals bear the names of Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi. They also named roads in their honor. He once watched a cartoon where a jungle safari was named after the Gandhi family.. A child, noticing this, asked his father if anything in the country existed beyond the family. The father’s silence spoke volumes. This reflects a harsh truth, he said.

Ambedkar had exceptional qualifications.

Sampla emphasized that Baba Saheb Ambedkar chaired the Drafting Committee of the Constitution. His exceptional qualifications led to this appointment. His appointment was not just because of his caste. He was the most educated and accomplished member of the Constituent Assembly. Evoking historical facts, Sampla said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wrote a letter to Edwina Mountbatten. The letter expressed his relief that Baba saheb Ambedkar was no longer in the Cabinet. A party with such a mindset and history now claiming to honor Baba saheb is utterly shameful. The Congress party must put an end to this hypocrisy.

Congress leaders mistreated and insulted Baba Saheb

He added that Pandit Nehru and other Congress leaders mistreated and insulted Baba Saheb Ambedkar. It supports this with documented evidence. Therefore, the nation demands an unconditional apology from the Congress. He said that the Congress is trying to politicize a small excerpt from Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah’s speech. They are presenting it out of context. However, the people of this nation are perceptive and see through such tactics. The Congress’ attempts are destined to fail.

Baba Saheb opposed the partition of the country.

Former state president BJP Punjab, Sh Sampla said that Baba Saheb opposed the partition of the country. He was also against Article 370. Additionally, he commented on the atrocities faced by Hindus in East Bengal. He added that it was crucial to understand the difference in the ideologies of the BJP and the Congress. The BJP believes in honoring anyone who has sincerely contributed to the country’s progress. In contrast, the Congress Party focuses solely on elevating one family.
