Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial to be completed this year, Rs 12 Crore works tender floated: Channi

50 Feet ‘Khanda’ to be main attraction of the Memorial

Chandigarh, January 19: The Punjab Government would complete the remaining work of Bhai Jaita Ji memorial at Sri Anandpur Sahib by the end of this year.  The Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had issued directions for the completion of this memorial and the department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has floated a tender of Rs 12 Crore works for the completion of this project.

Disclosing this here today  Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab said that a tender has been floated for the completion of this memorial on the occasion of Bhai Jaita ji’s birthday. He assured that Bhai Jaita ji memorial would be completed by the end of this year. He said that detailed information on the life of Bhai Jaita ji would be portrayed in this memorial.

 Channi said that Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial is one of the main attractions for the visitors at Sri Anandpur Sahib. This memorial would have a unique 50 feet high ‘Khanda’, in the water body which would weigh about 32 tons.

The Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs said that in addition to this detailed information about the life of Bhai Jaita ji and his contribution would be also displayed and presented in the memorial. The visitors would be briefed about all the historical facts of how Bhai Jaita ji brought Seesh of the ninth Guru of the Sikhs Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji from Chandni Chowk in Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib.
