Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in his tactician mode as the AAP is eyeing all 13 seats in Punjab based on their historic mandate win in 2022 assembly elections and their performance in Punjab for the last two years. The party is ardently gearing up for its traditional Lok Sabha seat Sangrur and On Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with all the MLAs of Sangrur. Mann asked them to run a positive campaign where AAP leaders will go to the people and apprise them of the AAP government’s works and achievements in the last two years.

Bhagwant Mann was elected from Sangrur as member parliament twice, in 2014 and in 2019, then in 2022 Punjab assembly elections he won from Dhuri (Sangrur) and became the chief minister of Punjab. All the nine MLAs of Sangrur LS seat come from the Aam Aadmi Party. Meet Hayer is also confident that the party will once again register a big win in Sangrur.

This meeting was attended by AAP MP candidate for Sangrur and MLA Barnala Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Punjab Finance Minister and MLA Dirba Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister and MLA Sunam Aman Arora, MLA Lehragaga Barinder Kumar Goyal, MLA Bhadaur Labh Singh Ugoke, MLA Mehal Kalan Kulwant Pandori, MLA Malerkotla Mohammed Jamil Ur Rahman and MLA Sangrur Narinder Kaur Bharaj.

In this meeting CM Mann discussed election strategy with the MLAs for the Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency. Mann asked the MLAs to hold meetings with all the office bearers of the party in Sangrur and hold meetings in every village too. He said that go to the people and talk about all the pro-Punjab and pro-people decisions we have taken as a government in Punjab in the last two years and also talk to the people about their issues that they want to be addressed in the parliament.

Briefing the press after the meeting, Meet Hayer said that CM Mann asked us to go among people with all the works we have done in the last two years. He said that works of twenty years of SAD-BJP and Congress don’t even come close to the achievements of the AAP government in just two years. He said that the AAP government gave 43,000 government jobs that too on merit basis and regularised 13,000 temporary teachers. We are giving 600 units of free electricity per bill since the formation of our government. More than 90% of households in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills. We are giving adequate electricity to farmers and industry. We increased revenue of the state. In excise alone we increased revenue from 6,000 crore to 10,000 crore in a year.

Meet Hayer further said that the people of Punjab are ready to reward the good performance of the Aam Aadmi Party government. The people of Sangrur, as well as the whole Punjab, are with Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann. We do not have any personal quarrel with anyone, our fight is based on the issues of the people. We are doing our work, in the field of education, health and sports. CM sahab also asked us to take our positive agenda to the people and to not talk negatively about anyone. He said that we are doing our work honestly and 95% of Punjabis are getting benefits of our decisions.

Meet Hayer added that we feel that we do not even need to campaign, people are campaigning for us themselves, every child of the country knows how Arvind Kejriwal is fighting against corruption and dictatorship. The BJP is getting exposed and everyone is aware of their dirty politics. He added that this is not the first dark phase of our democracy. People have fought against dictatorial politicians before and defeated them. This time too, to save our democracy and constitution, the people will vote the BJP out of power.

Addressing the media, Harpal Cheema said that we do the politics of work. So in this LS election we will ask the people of Punjab to vote for us based on our work. He said that the Mann government fulfilled four out of five major election guarantees in Punjab, whereas traditional parties’ governments do not even start work until the next election is around the corner.

Responding to a query, Cheema said that the people of Punjab are well aware of the discrimination that the BJP does against our state, they are refusing to release our funds and they are brought anti-farmers bills and are responsible of deaths of more than 750 farmers. He said that every Punjabi remembers the treatment our farmers got when they went to demand their rights from the centre. He said that the people of Punjab will never vote for the BJP.
