Amritsar, January 14 : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art Surjit Patar Centre. This center will focus on ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Guru Nanak Dev University.
The Chief Minister chaired a function to pay homage to the eminent writer here today. He said that this centre will be equipped with the latest ultra modern technology. He assured fulsome support and cooperation to the University for this Noble Cause. Bhagwant Singh Mann also announced plans to institutionalise an Award in the memory of the great writer. This Award will be given to budding writers to encourage them.
CM Highlights Academic Focus in University Appointments”
The Chief Minister said that appointments in the universities are being made to promote academics. These appointments aim to enhance the quality of learning in these prestigious institutions. He explained that the agenda is focused on boosting education. The goal is not to promote groupism in these premier institutions. Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the lessons from the great Gurus, saints, and martyrs. They taught us to fight against tyranny, oppression, and injustice.
AI ; CM Pays Tribute to Dr. Surjit Patar
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Dr Surjit Patar. He stated that the passing away of this great son of the soil was a huge loss for Punjabi literature. It was an irreparable loss. He said that Dr Surjit Patar was one of the greatest writers of Punjabi Literature. He had a strong personal bond with the late writer. The late writer appreciated him a lot. Bhagwant Singh Mann recalled the enormous contribution of Dr Surjit Patar towards the promotion of Punjabi language. He also highlighted his impact on literature and culture. His work would always be acknowledged by one and all.
He was an eminent Punjabi litterateur
The Chief Minister said that Dr Surjit Patar was one of the most celebrated Punjabi writers. He had a deep impact on the psyche of every Punjabi. The Chief Minister added that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction. If the English language had legendary writer Keats, then the Punjabi language has Dr Surjit Patar. He described Dr Surjit Patar as a ‘great writer’. He made an outstanding contribution to cement the bond of communal harmony and brotherhood in society through his pen. Recalling the literary services of the departed writer, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he was an eminent Punjabi litterateur. His prolific writings will always inspire budding writers.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is making concerted efforts for promotion of Punjabi language. He said that the state government has allocated more than Rs 350 crore to the Punjabi University Patiala. This will help bring it out of financial crunch. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it was imperative for the teaching staff to focus on educating the youth. They must also promote the Punjabi language.
AI ; CM Mann Urges Youth to Embrace Punjabi Heritage
The Chief Minister emphasized the state government’s commitment to promoting every Punjabi’s mother tongue and vowed to spare no effort to achieve this. Bhagwant Singh Mann urged the students to speak Punjabi well. He encouraged them to write the language proficiently. This way, they stay connected to their glorious heritage. He said that it is a matter of great pride for all of us. We are the flag bearers of this marvelous mother tongue. Writers have penned countless and rich literature in it.
AI ; CM Urges Youth to Draw Inspiration from Punjab’s Martyrs and Unity”
The Chief Minister said that the history of the state is replete with enormous sacrifices. The great martyrs have made selfless sacrifices for humanity. He said that the youth must get inspiration from these martyrs and serve their country selflessly and passionately. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punjab is the blessed and sacred land. People from all religions, languages, and sections of society reside there peacefully and harmoniously.
The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to the people on the sacred day of Maghi. He added that this solemn occasion is observed every year. It honors the 40 Muktas (liberated ones). They laid down their lives in the battle of Khidrana.Sri Muktsar Sahib now identifies this place. He stated that people have celebrated the auspicious occasion of Maghi in Sri Muktsar Sahib for time immemorial.This is to respect and eulogize the supreme sacrifice of 40 Muktas. They valiantly fought against the Mughals. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that lakhs of people visit Gurdwara ‘Sri Tuti-Gandi Sahib’ at Sri Muktsar Sahib. They pay obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum on this day.
