Harassment of people in RTA offices won’t be tolerated, warns Laljit Singh Bhullar

Asks Secretary Transport to take strict action against erring officials

Instructs STC to make frequent visit at RTA offices

Chandigarh, February 16:

          Taking serious note of plaints of harassment being faced by people in some of the RTA offices, Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Thursday, warned such employees to stop such practices at once.

          Reiterating that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led government is committed to provide government services to the people in a smooth, hassle-free and transparent manner, the Cabinet Minister said that no official, who harasses the people, will be spared at any cost as this is the government of common people.

  1. Laljit Singh Bhullar asked Principal Secretary Transport Mr. Vikas Garg to immediately consider the complaints of people visiting for their work in the RTA offices and take appropriate departmental action against erring employees. Similarly, the Cabinet Minister also instructed the State Transport Commissioner Mr. Monish Kumar to make surprise visit and inspect RTA offices.

          Informing that he had received many complaints of people being harassed in RTA offices, the Cabinet Minister categorically reprimanded such officials to improve their working. The Transport Minister said that providing people a hassle-free and corruption-free administration is the topmost priority of the Mann government.
