Tarn Taran, April 21: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Punjabhas achieved a major breakthrough. They have made significant progress in the crackdown on organised criminal networks. In a joint operation with Tarn Taran Police, they arrested Sukhbir Singh. “He brutally murdered Sarpanch Bachittar Singh alias Bikkar.” The murder took place in September 2024.
“Habitual Offender Sukhbir Singh Held; Probe on to Trace Criminal Network”
Sukhbir Singh is a habitual offender with a history of serious criminal activities, including multiple cases under the NDPS Act, Arms Act violations, and incidents of snatching. Police had been actively searching for him in connection with an FIR registered at Police Station Sarhali, Tarn Taran.
AGTF Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to identify his associates and uncover the full extent of his involvement in other criminal activities.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the Punjab Police remains firmly dedicated to upholding the rule of law, delivering timely justice to victims of crime, and maintaining peace, safety, and security across the state. He emphasized that this arrest marks a significant milestone. This is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks.
