ACS TO CM ASKS OFFICERS TO GEAR UP FOR EXPEDITING CONSTRUCTION ON PRESTIGIOUS DR BR AMBEDKAR STATE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES
BATS FOR COMPLETION OF THE QUALITY WORK IN A TIME BOUND MANNER
ENVISIONS THAT THE PREMIER INSTITUTE WILL HELP IN EMERGING PUNJAB AS A HUB OF MEDICAL EDUCATION

Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab Mr. A Venuprasad today asked the officers to gear up for expediting the construction work on the prestigious Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, SAS Nagar Mohali in a time bound manner.
Chairing a review meeting here at his office on Thursday, the Additional Chief Secretary to CM said that this premier institute is coming up in consonance with the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann to emerge state as a hub of medical education. He said that this apex institute will be instrumental in imparting quality medical education to the students on one hand and delivering world class medical facilities to students on the other. Mr. Venuprasad said that regular classes at Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, which is affiliated under Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Faridkot, have to be started very soon.
The Additional Chief Principal Secretary to CM said that this state of the art institute will come over 28 acres of land and will be equipped with ultra modern equipment and technology. He said that the location of this college and all the designs have already been finalized adding that work on this ambitious project will start soon. Mr. A Venuprasad envisioned that the new Medical college will give a boost to treatment and diagnostic facilities.
The Additional Chief Secretary to CM said that since a large number of students from other states will also come to this college, a state of the art hostel facility will also be constructed along with the college. He envisioned that the students aspiring to pursue medical education will no longer have to go abroad as they will be provided quality medical education in these medical colleges. Mr. A Venuprasad asked the officers to ensure the best quality of work for the construction of this ambitious project.
The Additional Chief Secretary to CM said that high standards of quality must be adhered to while completing the work on project and no stone shall be left unturned for accomplishing the work within the stipulated time period. Mr. A Venuprasad said that he will personally review the work on this project in the coming time to ensure that work is completed on time. He asked the officers to complete the necessary formalities at the earliest for starting the construction work in the institute at the earliest.
On the occasion Additional Chief Secretary Medical Education Mr. Anurag Aggarwal, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. AK Sinha, Principal Secretary PWD Mr. Neelkanth Awadh, Additional Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Himanshu Jain, Joint Special Principal Secretary to CM Mr. Sandeep Garha and others were also present.
