AAP MPs boycotted the President’s address, stating, “We have full respect for the President, but the address is written by the government.” That is why we are not attending this program.
Meet Hayer criticized the Modi government
AAP MP from Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer criticized the Modi government, accusing it of talking big about democracy and the Constitution while crushing them in reality. Investigative agencies from Delhi to West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra have openly misused their authority. They have arrested and detained Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Education Minister Manish Sisodia, and Health Minister Satyendra Jain for nearly two years. AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also unjustly imprisoned for six months. This is very dangerous for the democracy of the country.
He criticized the CBI for hastily arresting Arvind Kejriwal, despite the likelihood of him obtaining bail from the Supreme Court after receiving bail from the trial court. This is a big example of dictatorship.
Prime Minister should stop its misuse and clarify his stand
He said that the misuse of investigation agencies is very unfortunate for the democracy of the country. Therefore, the Prime Minister should stop its misuse and clarify his stand on this matter. He should also address the atrocities committed against Arvind Kejriwal and ensure his prompt release.
Meet Hayer said that today we have started a protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal at our party level. Talks are also going on with the leaders of the INDIA Alliance. We will discuss this issue with them and amplify this voice with their support.
