The future of 24 lakh students is at stake, we cannot afford anyone’s silence on the matter of NEET exam, NTA must come clean: AAP

AAP demands Supreme Court to form an SIT to investigate this matter without the pressure of the corrupt Modi government

AAP spokesperson Bikram Jit Passi urges a thorough investigation into the NTA NEET scam, calling the BJP government a government of paper leaks

BJP Can’t Conduct Fair Exams

Chandigarh, June 20 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab lambasted the BJP government for jeopardising the future of 24 lakh students who appeared in NTA NEET this year on May 5th. The party appealed to the Supreme Court to form an SIT to investigate this matter and demanded the strictest action against everyone involved.

AAP Raises Concerns at Press Conference

At a Thursday press conference, AAP spokesperson Bikram Jit Passi questioned the question paper leaks, result date, grace marks, and NTA’s silence.

Call for Action on Behalf of 24 Lakh Students

The AAP leader stressed that everyone should speak up on this matter as it concerns the future of 24 lakh students and must be taken seriously. Advocate Inderjit Singh and Gagandeep Singh accompanied him at the press conference.

Speaking to the media, Bikram Jit Passi highlighted that the NTA declared the NEET exam results on June 4th. Despite having conducted the exam on May 5th and initially planning to release the results on June 14th, which coincided with the general election results on the same day,…

*Questionable Marks Allocation and Lack of Transparency*

They announced 67 students as toppers with 720/720 marks. However, following this, there were students who received 719, 718, 717 marks, which is deemed impossible. In this exam, candidates receive 4 marks for a correct answer and face negative marking, with 1 mark deducted for a wrong answer. Thus, scores like 719, 718, 717 should not exist; they should be 715, 710, 705, etc.

While they justified these discrepancies as grace marks, they have not publicly explained the criteria and regulations governing their application. Students dedicate 16-18 hours a day to prepare for these exams. Therefore, NTA cannot selectively award grace marks without a transparent and predetermined process.

*NTA’s Response and Passi’s Critique*

Passi highlighted that students admitted to having leaked question papers, yet NTA merely issued a press release denying any leaks. He questioned the legitimacy of NTA’s stance, citing recent arrests in Bihar and Gujarat related to the leaks. Passi criticized NTA, suggesting it operates under BJP pressure, failing to handle the issue adequately.

*BJP’s Record on Exam Integrity*

Passi criticized BJP’s claims of implementing the Gujarat model, highlighting that there have been 11 paper leaks in Gujarat over the span of 11 years, along with a similar trend observed in UP. Moreover, he cited the Vyapam scam, accusing the BJP of consistently jeopardizing students’ futures. Passi underscored the BJP’s inability to conduct fair exams despite their aspirations for global leadership.

In addition, AAP urged the Supreme Court to establish an SIT for a comprehensive probe into the scam affecting 24 lakh students, emphasizing the critical importance of these exams.

Passi also called on the media to expose the failures of the Modi government and to hold the NTA accountable to prevent future crises for students and youth.
