…AAP will continue to serve the country’s benefactor: Raghav Chadha

…Our primary duty is to serve the farmers: Gagan Anmol Mann

Chandigarh, December 29

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will give free Wi-Fi facility to the farmers protesting against the centre’s black agriculture laws at Singhu on the Delhi-Haryana border, to address the problem of internet, so that they can respond to the anti-struggle campaigners. The announcement was made by AAP Punjab co-incharge and MLA from Delhi, Raghav Chadha and co-president of state youth wing Gagan Anmol Mann, during a press conference convened at the party headquarters on Tuesday. Raghav Chadha said that the Aam Aadmi Party, which governs the national capital region, was working as a ‘sevadar’ to provide facilities to the benefactors of the country during the agitation.

He said that it was decided by AAP’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal to install Wi-Fi hotspots to help farmers make video calls and connect with family members back home. He said that the party had taken this decision keeping in view the fact that farmers sitting hundreds of miles away from their homes were finding it difficult to communicate with their families. “A person needs bread, clothes and a house to live a respectable life. But now the internet has also been added to it. We want the farmers to stay in touch with their families,” Chadha said.

He said that the party had identified a few places and the signal would be within 100 metres of the Wi-Fi hotspot. Chadha said that for the time being hotspot would start at Singhu border and as per the demand of the farmers, it would be provided at other areas also. He said that the Modi-led BJP government was campaigning against the farmers’ movement and now the farmers would be enabled to respond to the BJP’s propaganda through social media. Replying to a question, Chadha said that it was up to the government to decide how long the agitation would last.  “It was the decision of the farmers to carry out a long agitation against the stubborn attitude of the government as it was only a struggle of the farmers and not of any political party,” he added.

Referring to the services being provided to the farmers by the Aam Aadmi Party and the Kejriwal-led Delhi government, Gagan Anmol Mann said that AAP was fulfilling its obligations to the ‘annadatas’. She said that the National Convener of the party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had also visited the protest site several times as a ‘sevadar’, while the MLAs and volunteers were continuously serving as ‘sevaks’. She said that AAP had been exposing Congress and Akali Dal for kneeling before the Modi government for personal gains in regard with anti-farmers black laws. She said that the Aam Aadmi Party stands shoulder to shoulder with the farmers in their struggle and would raise its voice in their favor on every front.
