30 students of Schools of Eminence witness launch of ‘Chandrayaan 3’ under the leadership of Harjot Singh Bains
Students of Punjab Government Schools will also attend upcoming launch programs of ISRO: Harjot Singh Bains
Sriharikota, July 14: On the occasion of the launch of Chandrayaan-3 by ISRO today from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (Tamil Nadu), 30 students of ‘Schools of Eminence’ of Punjab witnessed the historic occasion. Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains was also present with the students on this occasion.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that 15 girls students and 15 boys from different Schools of Eminence have got the privilege of witnessing this historic occasion.
He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was taking important steps to impart quality education to the students studying in government schools of the state and also to inculcate the spirit of becoming scientists and great engineers in their minds .
He said that these students who witnessed the launch of Chandrayaan 3 were the toppers in the entrance examination for the ‘Schools of Eminence’. The students have been brought to Sriharikota by the Punjab Government at their own expense.
Mr. Bains said that he requested ISRO Chairman Mr. S. Somnath that allow the students from government schools of Punjab in the launch programs to be conducted by ISRO in the future and the chairman immediately accepted this request.
He said that in the month of May 202, the students of the Schools of Eminence also visited big industrial units and prominent higher education institutes of the state.
