CABINET SUB-COMMITTEE HOLDS MEETING WITH VARIOUS EMPLOYEE UNIONS

Directs concerned departments for speedy resolution of legitimate demands

Chandigarh, March 14: The Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema held meetings with various employee organizations related to Education Department, Revenue Department and Cooperative Department here today to discuss their issues and demands.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Sub-Committee, which also included Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora, discussed in detail the issues mentioned in the memorandums presented by the leaders of these unions. During the comprehensive discussion on these issues, Principal Secretary School Education Mr. Kamal Kishore Yadav, Secretary Revenue Department Ms. Alaknanda Dayal, Finance Secretary Ms. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Special Secretary-cum-Director General School Education Mr. Vinay Bublani and Additional Registrar Corporation (Admin) Mr. Gulpreet Singh Aulakh apprised the sub-committee about current position, financial implications and viability as per the policies adopted by concerned departments in this regards.

On this occasion, the Cabinet Sub-Committee directed the officials of the concerned departments for quick resolution of the legitimate demands raised by the unions. Regarding some issues shared by the union leaders during the discussion, the sub-committee sought their suggestions for their practical resolution. The sub-committee assured the union representatives that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has resolved many long-pending issues related to the employees, and is working towards quick resolution of their issues.

The cabinet sub-committee today held meetings with Sarva Sikhya Abhiyan/Mid Day Meal Daftri Mulazam Union, Punjab Nambardar Union, Land Mortgage Bank Employees Union, Mid Day Meal and Safai Workers Union, Computer Adiyapak Union, Berojagar Sanjha Morcha, Unaided Staff Front, and Punjab Pay scale Bahali Sanjha Front.
