25 Central Force Companies Arrive for Punjab Elections 2024

 *CHANDIGARH, March 8:  In order to ensure the conduct of free, fair and peaceful upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Punjab state has received 25 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) for area domination and confidence-building measures. The 25 companies include five coys of Central Reserved Police Forces (CRPF), 15 coys of Border Security Force (BSF) and five coys of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Special Director General of Police (Spl DGP) Law and Order Arpit Shukla disclosed that the forces would deploy in vulnerable districts to bolster public confidence and assert control over sensitive areas in Punjab. He mentioned ongoing mapping of vulnerable zones to facilitate additional force deployment and prevent potential disruptions prior to the General Elections.

Spl DGP emphasized directives to all CPs/SSPs to monitor anti-social elements and conduct flag marches within their jurisdictions to foster public trust. He reiterated Punjab Police’s dedication, led by DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, to ensure elections proceed freely, fairly, and peacefully.
