Chandigarh ,6th January : Punjab is set to witness significant changes in its administrative landscape in 2026 as over a dozen senior IAS officers, along with a few PCS officers, are scheduled to retire. The retirement cycle will begin in January and continue throughout the year, with a total of 14 IAS officers concluding their long and distinguished service by December.
Currently, Punjab has 193 IAS officers and 241 PCS officers in service. While only two IAS officers retired in 2025, this year will see the departure of several senior and experienced officers who have been instrumental in the state’s administration.
Some of the IAS officers retiring this year include:

* Seema Jain (1991 batch) – On Deputation with Government of India – Retiring 31 December 2026

As many as 11 IPS officers of Punjab cadre are scheduled to retire in 2026, marking another major change in the state’s police leadership. These retirements will include several senior officers from different batches who have served the force for decades.
