Chandigarh/ Garhshankar/Hoshiarpur, April 7: Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rouri interacted with teachers, students, and parents. He visited four government schools. This was part of the ‘Punjab Sikhia Kranti’ campaign launched on Monday. Inaugurating slew of projects in Punjab government schools, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri  said that education sector is one of the foremost priorities area for the state government, which has done a complete overhauling of government schools.

Rs 81.36 Lakh Works Inaugurated in Four Garhshankar Schools

He said that they inaugurated works worth Rs 81.36 lakh today in four schools of the Garhshankar constituency, which will improve basic facilities in these schools and provide better infrastructure to the students. Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri inaugurated various completed works at Government Senior Secondary Smart School Birampur. He also inaugurated works at Government High School Birampur. Additionally, he inaugurated completed works at Government Elementary School Hajipur and Government Primary School Rampur.

It will also provide better infrastructure to the students. The field of education in Punjab has seen significant progress. Many significant changes occurred under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The field of education in Punjab has greatly progressed. These strides mainly include strengthening basic skills among students and timely changes in teaching methods. There have also been mega parent-teacher meetings and the training of principals, headmasters, and teachers of the education department abroad. He said the Punjab government established the Schools of Eminence. It also created the Schools of Brilliance. This was done to provide quality education and state-of-the-art facilities. It converted 425 primary schools into Schools of Happiness. The government also modernised the infrastructure in schools across the state. Rouri, while inaugurating the works at the Government Senior Secondary Smart School Birampur at a cost of Rs 51.97 lakh and at the Government High School Birampur at a cost of Rs 4.88 lakh, said that Birampur School is an example in the area in terms of infrastructure and is playing an important role in providing quality education to the students. Inaugurating the classrooms built at a cost of Rs 7.51 lakh at the Government Elementary School Hajipur, the Deputy Speaker said that there will be no shortage of facilities in the government schools. Inaugurating the works at the Government Primary School Rampur at a cost of Rs 17 lakh, the Deputy Speaker appealed to the people that free and quality education are being provided in the government schools, so that maximum students avail such facilities District Education Officer Lalita Arora along with other  personalities were also present on this occasion.
