CHANDIGARH, January 25: The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (GOI), recognized the outstanding services of the Punjab Police. On the eve of the 76th Republic Day, they announced the names of the Punjab Police officers/officials. The President will award them the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PMDS) and the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS).
President to Honor ADGP RK Jaiswal and Nilabh Kishore with President’s Medal
The President will honor Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Intelligence RK Jaiswal with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.ADGP Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Nilabh Kishore will also receive this prestigious award.
76th Republic Day : 15 officers selected for the Medal for Meritorious Service
Similarly, an IPS Officer, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ludhiana Range Dhanpreet Kaur, is among the 15 officers and officials selected.In addition, the group chosen for the Medal for Meritorious Service includes a PPS officer. AIG Financial Intelligence Unit Tejinderjit Singh is the officer included. Furthermore, Inspectors Inderdeep Singh, Amrik Singh, Jagroop Singh, and Balwinder Singh are the remaining officials in this esteemed group. Additionally, SI Balbir Chand, SI Iqbal Singh, SI Satish Kumar, and SI Balvir Chand are also part of the selection, alongside SI Lakhvir Singh, SI Dimple Kumar, and SI Harvinder Kumar. The selection committee has also selected ASI Sukhbir Singh and ASI Harpal Singh as distinguished officials.

Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav congratulated the awardees. He expressed gratitude to the Central Government and State Government for recognizing the services of these officers. This recognition boosts the morale of the entire Punjab Police force. He said that such recognition plays a significant role in encouraging the Police force. This encouragement helps them work with more dedication and devotion. Such dedication is pivotal in a border state having manifold security challenges.
