Mohali/Abu Road, Rajasthan. President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the Global Summit at Shantivan of Brahmakumaris Institute at 9.30 am on Friday. During this, Murmu, while talking about world peace, spirituality, global warming in her speech, also praised the schemes of the Central Government, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Earlier in the morning, under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, he planted a tree in the Man Sarovar complex and appealed to 140 crore countrymen to plant trees. Addressing a conference organized on the topic of clean and healthy society through spirituality at Diamond Hall, President Draupadi Murmu said that today an atmosphere of unrest prevails in many parts of the world. Human values ​​are declining. In such times, the importance of peace and unity is increasing even more. Peace is not only outside, but also lies deep in our mind. Only when we are calm, we can have a feeling of sympathy and love towards others. Therefore, mind, speech, deeds, everything has to be kept clean. Ignoring spiritual values ​​and adopting the path of only materialism ultimately proves to be destructive.

One can become a better person only by improving one’s deeds –

President Murmu said that spirituality does not mean being religious or renouncing worldly work. Spirituality means recognizing the power within oneself and bringing purity in one’s conduct and thoughts. One can become a better person only by improving one’s deeds, not by renouncing deeds. Purity in thoughts and deeds is the way to bring balance and peace in every sphere of life. This is also necessary for the creation of a clean and healthy society. A pure conscience resides in a clean and healthy body. Cleanliness should not be only in the external environment but also in our thoughts and actions. We are the children of God. Like God, we are also strange. We were clean and pure but after coming here we have tainted ourselves. Our soul has become dirty with vices due to lust, anger, greed, attachment and violence, which needs to be purified. When the soul is pure, everything will be pure. If we are not mentally and spiritually clean, then our cleanliness will be fruitless.

Connection to spirituality gives us a different perspective to see the world-

President Murmu said that India has been guiding the world community in the spiritual field since ancient times. I wish that institutions like Brahma Kumaris work to strengthen this identity of India. We all know that materialism gives us momentary happiness. We get attached to what we consider to be real happiness. This attachment becomes the reason for our sorrow and dissatisfaction. On the other hand, spirituality gives us an opportunity to know ourselves, to recognize our inner self. Connecting with spirituality gives us a different positive perspective to look at society and the world. This perspective generates a feeling of compassion towards living beings and sensitivity towards nature. Spirituality is not only a means of personal development, but also a way to bring positivity in society.

Global warming…

Murmu said that the world is struggling with global warming and environmental problems. Efforts should be made to save it. Humans should understand that they are not the owners of this earth. Rather, they are responsible for the protection of the earth. We are trustees, we are not owners. Therefore, as trustees, we have to take care of this earth, this planet, and move it forward in the same direction. We have to protect this planet with discretion. I am happy to know that in one session of this conference, measures to face climate change will also be discussed. Human population is increasing and trees and plants are being cut accordingly. Today, I have also planted a tree in the Man Sarovar complex. The President of India has requested 140 crore people to plant a tree every year in the name of their mother or on their birthday, so that the situation improves.

On natural and yogic farming…

The President said that the Government of India is making many efforts for a clean mind and body for the countrymen. I am happy to know that the government is encouraging Jeevamrit and natural farming. Natural farming leads to clean food, clean food leads to a clean mind. Brahmakumar brothers and sisters are encouraging to do yogic farming and they themselves also do yogic farming. That is why it is said that as the food, so is the mind. The mentality you will develop is the same as the food you eat.

On Swachh Bharat and Jan Jeevan Mission…

He said that the Government of India is making many efforts for the clean and healthy life of the countrymen. Swachh Bharat Mission has recently completed ten years. This mission has increased awareness towards cleanliness in the society. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, a pledge has been taken to provide clean water to every household. Clean water is supplied through taps in more than 78 percent of rural households. This is very important, because clean water is necessary not only for cleanliness but for the entire body. Last month, a decision has been taken to provide medical facilities under Ayushman Bharat for citizens above 70 years of age. Public participation has an important place in making these efforts successful.

The President said about Brahma Kumaris-

Yoga and spiritual education of spiritual institutions like Brahma Kumaris make us experience inner peace. This peace has the ability to bring positive change not only within us but in the entire society. There will be many sessions in this global summit, which will be very beneficial in making the world healthy and clean. New paths of world peace will emerge from these sessions. Only when we are able to recognize the cleanliness within us, we will be able to contribute to building a clean and healthy society. Brahma Kumar brothers and sisters are trying to make the society clean and healthy and bring world peace. This effort is going on since 1937. I think one day the world will definitely change. You are like a rock. Your effort to bring peace and change to the world will definitely succeed.

Appeal made to Brahma Kumaris-

It is expected from institutions like Brahma Kumaris that they will keep making people aware to live a clean and healthy life on the strength of spirituality. Spirituality empowers not only our personal life but also other issues related to society and earth like sustainable development, informational conservation and social justice. The purity of food, water and air makes the entire life pure and clean. President Draupadi Murmu quoted a couplet of Sant Kabir and said that when I went to see someone, I did not find anyone, I searched my heart, I saw someone who was worse than me. When we put ourselves in the situation of others, only then we will be able to form the right opinion.
