PGIMER Ranks 2nd Best Institute in NIRF Ranking 2021

Maintaining the 2nd Position for 4th time in a row .

The PGIMER, Chandigarh has been ranked second Best Medical Institute in the NIRF Rankings-2021 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, announced NIRF India Rankings 2021 through e-Release today, in which, PGIMER, Chandigarh competed amongst 118 Institutes throughout the country under the Medical category. AIIMS, New Delhi has been ranked first in this category whereas CMC, Vellore has been ranked third.

The NIRF provides for ranking of Institutes in five broad generic groups of parameters, namely: i) Teaching, Learning, and Resources; ii) Research and Professional Practice; iii) Graduation Outcomes; iv) Outreach and inclusivity; and v) Perception. The Institute has scored 82.62 this year and improved its overall score by 2.6 points from last year.

PGIMER, Chandigarh bagged the same position in the NIRF ranking of 2020, 2019, and 2018 as well.

This position has been attained by the combined team efforts of all the faculty and staff of the Institute under the leadership of the Prof. Jagat Ram, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Prof. Jagat Ram congratulated each member of the PGI family for continuous support and efforts in achieving this feat.

He also thanked Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Minister and President of the Institute,  Mansukh Mandaviya and  Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending wholehearted support and inspiration.
