CM CONDOLES DEATH OF COPS IN A ROAD MISHAP :ANNOUNCES RS 2 CRORE AS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THEIR FAMILIES

Chandigarh, January 17-

Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the death of three cops in a road accident near Hoshiarpur, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday condoles & announced Rs 2 crore as financial assistance to their families.

In a heartfelt statement, the Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives of the police officers in a road mishap. He emphasized the significance of this unfortunate event, stating that it is a substantial loss not only for the state as a whole but particularly for the grieving families of the deceased officers.

To address the immediate financial needs of the bereaved families, the Chief Minister announced a total financial assistance package of Rs 2 crore. Out of this amount, Rs 1 crore will be provided as ex-gratia by the state government. Additionally, an equal amount of Rs 1 crore will be granted as part of an insurance cover, with HDFC bank facilitating this payment.

The Chief Minister highlighted the commitment of the state government to prioritize the well-being of soldiers, including those from the Armed forces, paramilitary, and police, along with their families. This gesture of financial support reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring that the families of the officers receive necessary assistance during these challenging times.

In summary, the Chief Minister’s announcement encompasses both direct financial aid from the state government and insurance coverage through HDFC bank, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to support the families of the fallen police officers.
