NHM Punjab employees not in the mood to tolerate dictatorship : Dr. Inderjeet Rana, The association has given an ultimatum of 15 days to the government
After the Department issued a notice to terminate the services of the employees to end the agitation of the employees working under the National Health Mission Punjab, after strict intervention of the NRHM employees association, Punjab the government was forced to re-employ the striking personnel. As per letter no. NHM/ Pb / 21/68147 dated 11-05-2021, the employees have been re-employed on the condition that the employees will not go on strike in future. This government decision is a violation of human rights. These anti-humanitarian orders are resentful of the working class of Punjab as well as the general public. State President of NRHM Employees Association, Punjab, Dr. Inderjeet Singh Rana, expressing his displeasure over these orders, clearly stated that these orders are pointing out towards the foul intentions of the government and provoking the struggle across the state by employees. Further, he said that these are the same employees who returned from the strike during the Corona epidemic, realizing their duties towards the people of the state. They are serving people by risking their lives to win over this epidemic. If they do not care about their lives, then the government’s threat to end their services is a proof of the government’s below average thinking towards them. If the representatives of the government sitting on the channels are viewing the employees as being pro-government or anti-government, then they are clearly told that there are different ways of ideological differences and protests of the employees, which are politicized by the government. Employees have come back to field feeling the agony of people, their families, badly affected by the Corona epidemic in Punjab, the employees have merely changed their mode of protest and this protest is still going on. The association has given an ultimatum of 15 days to the government to implement the regularization policy along with the reforms keeping the demands of the employees. Association leaders Dr. Inderjeet Singh Rana and Amarjeet Singh jointly appealed to the government to sit with the top officials of the government and the department within the stipulated time and resolve these demands in the interest of the employees. The leaders also said that by sending a letter for such anti-employee actions, the government is pushing not only the National Health Mission but also the entire working class of Punjab into a more intense struggle as in the last four years, the state government has adopted its wrong policies and has tried to suppress the voice of the employees. The leaders have appealed through the press to all the employees unions of Punjab to unite and said that if the government takes any adverse action against any employee or if the government fails to deliver on its promises within the stipulated time then all the corona-warriors associated with NHM Health Department of Punjab, as well as all the employees who are victims of exploitation by the government will be fighting against more intensely and for this will be the sole responsibility of the state government.
