MHA to Notify Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024
There will be a separate web platform for applicant submissions
The highly anticipated Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA-2019) regulations are expected to be announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today. The Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2024 are a set of laws that would make it easier for those who qualify under the CAA-2019 to apply for Indian citizenship.
There will be a separate web platform for applicant submissions, and the full application process will take place online. It is anticipated that this action will expedite and simplify the citizenship application procedure for qualified applicants.
The applications will be submitted in a completely online mode for which a web portal has been provided.
